PLAY #4 - I was the Assistant Director on the original Off-Broadway production of Andrew Lippa’s musical, so it was really nice re-living some of those memories this afternoon while watching this excellent Off-Off-Broadway production by The Gallery Players in Brooklyn. I directed a production of
Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat for The Gallery Players back in early 2002, so I re-lived some of those memories too - though those were not as nice. That production process was one of the experiences that drove me away from pursuing theatrical directing as a career. Of course, it drove me towards UCBT and, eventually, directing a lot of cool projects (not to mention becoming Artistic Director of the theatre, co-writing
Gutenberg!, and a lot of other things). So - that has been very nice.
